Day 1: Casablanca airport – Rabat
Upon your arrival, we will pick you up from the airport and explore the main sights in Casablanca including the Hassan II Mosque. Then, we drive to Rabat, Morocco’s capital city, where we will visit the Hassan Tower and the Oudaya Kasbah. We have dinner in Rabat and stay overnight in a local hotel.
Day 2: Rabat – Rif Mountains – Chefchaouen
After breakfast, we head towards the famous blue city of Chefchaouen via the city of Kenitra. We drive through the Rif Mountains passing through the city of Ouazzane. In Chefchaouen, we will explore the medina together, then you will be free to explore the city on your own. We have dinner in Chefchaouen and stay overnight in a local hotel.
Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez
After breakfast in our hotel, we drive to the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, a famous archaeological site in Morocco’s history. Along the way, we will pass through a few villages in the Rif Mountains. We will have a guided tour of Volubilis and explore the ancient ruins. From Volubilis, we continue onto Meknes, one of Morocco’s former Imperial Cities. We will explore the medina with its massive, stone walls and pass through the majestic gate, Bab El Mansour. We will also visit the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, sultan of 17th century Meknes. From Meknes, we head directly to Fez where we will spend the night in a local riad.
Day 4: Fez guided tour
After breakfast, we will explore Fez, the oldest city in Morocco. We will visit the most important historical and cultural sites including the Royal Palace gate, the Mellah (16th century Jewish Quarter) and the famous Al Quaraouiyine University. We will also visit the legendary Chouara Tannery in the medina and the Moulay Idriss mausoleum. We will have dinner and stay overnight in Fez.
Day 5: Fez– Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga camel trek
We drive from Fez to Ifrane and Azrou passing the Middle Atlas Mountains. We will stop at a cedar forest to watch local Barbarian Apes. We will visit the town of Midelt, famous for its mineral products, then drive through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, the famous fossil city. We continue to the town of Rissani and the Merzouga Desert. We stay overnight in a desert hotel in Merzouga.
Day 6: Merzouga Desert tour
We will deeply explore the Merzouga Desert comfortably in a 4×4 vehicle. We will visit the villages of Khamlia and Hassi Labiad plus explore the desert dunes. In Khamlia, we will enjoy local Gnawa music. In the afternoon, we will ride camels to reach the Merzouga Desert camp deep in the sand dunes. We will spend the night in the Merzouga Desert with all the proper necessities. We will have a traditional Berber meal and enjoy live drum music. After watching the sunset over the desert, we will spend the night nomad tents.
Day 7: Merzouga Desert- Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
In the early morning, we will ride camels from the desert camp back to Merzouga village. Experienced Merzouga desert guides will safely guide you so you can enjoy the desert sunrise. After breakfast at the hotel in Merzouga, we drive towards Rissani and Erfoud until we reach Todra Gorge around lunchtime. We will explore the famous rock canyon, then drive to Dades Valley where we will have dinner and stay overnight in a local riad.
Day 8 : Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate
From Dades Valley, we head towards Marrakech passing through the Valley of Roses, Skoura and Ouarzazate. Once we reach Ouarzazate, we will visit Atlas Film Studio, the world’s largest film studio. Many famous Hollywood movies were filmed here including the Mummy and the Gladiator. We will have dinner in Ouarzazate and stay in a local hotel.
Day 9: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Marrakech
After breakfast in the hotel, we will visit Ait Ben Haddou, the most impressive kasbah in Morocco that is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From here, we travel to Asni and Imlil via the dramatic Tizi N’tichka Pass. We will visit the Glaoui Kasbah built by one of the last Berber chieftains and the largest kasbah in Morocco. After a short visit to the kasbah, your journey will continue through the High Atlas Mountains until we reach Marrakech. In Marrakech, we stay overnight in a riad.
Day 10: Marrakech guided tour
We will enjoy a guided tour in Marrakech, one of Morocco’s most popular destinations. Marrakech is a major economic and cultural center that is home to many mosques, monuments, palaces and gardens. The medina in Marrakech is a densely packed, walled medieval city dating to the Berber Empire with maze-like alleys where thriving souks sell traditional pottery, jewellery and other authentic goods. We will also visit the atmospheric main square known as Djemaa el-Fna, where street performers, snake charmers and local musicians perform.
Day 11: Marrakech – Essaouira
We will explore Essaouira, an ancient port city on the Atlantic coast. We will drive through valleys filled with orange groves and olive trees. Along the way, you will learn about the famous argan trees which are valued for their nutritive, cosmetic and medicinal properties. We will explore the medina in Essaouira and wander its ancient streets. Late afternoon, we will drive back to Marrakech. We will have dinner in Marrakech and stay overnight in a hotel.
Day 12: Marrakech – Ourika Valley Day Excursion
Ourika Valley, known for its many waterfalls and beautiful, natural attractions, is a very popular destination. This day trip from Marrakech is a great way to escape the city. The Ourika Valley is also home to many Berber people who still practice a traditional way of life. Despite its close proximity to Marrakech, it’s still considered a relatively unspoiled landscape.
Day 13: Marrakech – Casablanca
Today, we transfer you from Marrakech to Casablanca.
