Day 1: Marrakech- Ait ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
We depart in the early morning for Ouarzazate. After Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m high) we take the road to Telouet(Glaoui) Kasbah. After visiting the kasbah, we continue our drive along the ancient caravan road for 32Km passing by small Berber villages. Our next stop is the fascinating Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After we visit the kasbah, our journey continues until we reach Ouarzazate. We stay overnight in Ouarzazate.
Day 2: Ouarzazate- Draa Valley – Zagora
We depart Ouarzazate towards Zagora passing by Tizi N’-Tinififft (1660 m high), we will have a short lunch stop in Agdz. A short, 10 km later we will travel off-road to reach the Tamnougalt Kasbah. From here, we continue off-road for 32 km through the Draa Valley passing date palm oases and ancient kasbahs. We reach Zagora by evening. Dinner and overnight in a hotel.
Day 3: Zagora- Erg Chegaga Dunes
After breakfast, we depart Zagora at 10:00 am heading in the direction of M’hamid. We visit the Koranic library, pottery studio, and the underground kasbah in Tamegroute. From Tamegroute, we take another road across Draa Valley passing by the oasis of Ouled Brahim and its beautiful kasbahs joining the road on the other side of the valley. We stop for lunch in the dunes of Erg Lihoudi, then take an hour camel ride across the dunes. We continue off-road (64Km) to Chegaga; the highest dunes in southern Morocco (300m high). Along the way, we will pass by a sacred oasis. Dinner and overnight in a camp with Berber tents.
Day 4: Chegaga – Iriqui Lake – Ouarzazate
After sunrise over the dunes and breakfast, we depart from Chegaga to Foum Zguid, passing by Iriqui Lake and a desert plateau covered with acacias trees. Lunch in Taznakht. We continue on until we reach Ouarzazate by late afternoon. Accommodation and dinner tonight are in a hotel.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast, we will make a city tour to Ouarzazate visiting Taourirte Kasbah and the famous Atlas Film Studio. After this tour, we leave for Marrakech. Lunch in Taddert, a village in the mountains. We arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon.
