By afternoon, we reach the enchanting Chefchaouen, known as the “Blue Pearl of Morocco.” Nestled at the foot of the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen’s medina is famous for its blue-painted houses, cobbled streets, and vibrant local culture. You’ll stroll through charming lanes filled with local art shops, rooftop cafés, and traditional riads. Dinner and overnight stay in a riad in Chefchaouen.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After breakfast, we leave the mountains behind and drive to the ancient Roman city of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the remarkably preserved ruins and learn about Morocco’s Roman past.
We continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s Imperial Cities, built during the 17th century by Sultan Moulay Ismail. Highlights include the grand Bab El Mansour Gate, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the city’s historic medina surrounded by massive stone walls. After lunch, we drive to Fes for dinner and overnight stay in a traditional riad.
Day 3: Fes Guided Tour
After breakfast, a full-day tour of Fes awaits. Known as Morocco’s oldest and most spiritual city, Fes is a UNESCO-listed gem with a maze-like medina. You’ll visit the Royal Palace Gates, the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), and the historic Al Quaraouiyine University—the oldest continuously operating university in the world.
We’ll also explore the famous Chouara Tannery, the Attarine Museum, and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. After lunch, visit a ceramics cooperative to see artisans at work before enjoying a panoramic view over the old city. Dinner and overnight in Fes.
Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga
After breakfast, we travel south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine architecture and clean streets. Next, we stop in Azrou to visit the cedar forests and see the playful Barbary macaques.
Continuing through Midelt and the dramatic Ziz Valley, we stop to admire its lush palm groves and ancient Kasbahs. Passing through Errachidia and Erfoud, we reach Merzouga by evening. This small desert town is the gateway to the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Dinner and overnight stay in a comfortable desert hotel.
Day 5: 4×4 Tour of Erg Chebbi – Camel Trek & Desert Camp
After breakfast, we explore the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes by 4×4. Our desert adventure includes a visit to the village of Khamlia to enjoy traditional Gnawa music performed by descendants of African traders. We’ll also visit desert nomads, a palm oasis, and local Berber villages to learn about their way of life.
In the afternoon, we trade our 4x4s for camels and embark on a sunset camel trek through the dunes. As the sun sets, the sands glow orange and red — the perfect moment for photos. Dinner will be served at your Berber desert camp, followed by drumming, music, and stargazing around the campfire. Overnight stay in a nomadic-style tent.
Day 6: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
Wake early to watch the magnificent sunrise over the Sahara. After breakfast and a shower, we begin our journey to Todra Gorge, one of Morocco’s most impressive natural wonders. Towering limestone cliffs rise more than 300 meters, creating a narrow canyon perfect for short walks and photography.
From there, we continue to the Dades Valley, a region known for its dramatic red rock formations and winding roads. Dinner and overnight stay in a charming riad overlooking the valley.
Day 7: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech
