Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fes
Your 8-day adventure through Morocco’s most iconic cities and landscapes begins in Casablanca. After meeting your driver and guide, we depart for Fes, passing through the beautiful farmlands where olives, grains, and grapes are cultivated.
Our first stop is Rabat, the capital of Morocco, known for its serene coastal beauty and historic landmarks. We then continue to Meknes, one of the country’s four Imperial Cities, founded by Sultan Moulay Ismail. Here, we visit the impressive Bab Mansour Gate, the Madrasa Bou Inania, and the Henri es-Souani granaries and stables.
Before arriving in Fes, we stop at Volubilis, an ancient Roman city and UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the well-preserved ruins offer a glimpse into Morocco’s classical past. In the evening, we arrive in Fes, check into your riad or hotel, and enjoy dinner.
Day 2: Fes Sightseeing Tour
After breakfast, we begin a full-day guided exploration of Fes, the spiritual and cultural heart of Morocco. Your local guide will take you through the labyrinthine alleys of the old Medina of Fes el-Bali, one of the world’s oldest and best-preserved medieval cities.
We visit the Royal Palace gates, the Karaouine Mosque and University—one of the oldest in the world—and the Tomb of Moulay Idriss II, the city’s founder. Lunch will be served in a traditional Moroccan restaurant within the medina.
In the afternoon, we continue to the Nejjarine Fountain, the Batha Museum, and the Harem Garden. Before returning to the hotel, we’ll stop at a scenic viewpoint to admire a panoramic view of Fes’s rooftops and minarets glowing in the evening light.
Day 3: Fes – Middle Atlas – Merzouga
We depart early towards the Sahara Desert, passing through the picturesque Middle Atlas Mountains. Along the way, we stop in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and in Azrou to see the cedar forests where Barbary macaque monkeys live.
The journey continues through mountain landscapes and Berber villages before reaching Midelt for lunch. From here, the road descends along the Ziz Valley, dotted with palm groves and ancient Kasbahs, passing through Er-Rachidia and reaching Merzouga by late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at a local hotel on the edge of the Sahara.
Day 4: 4×4 Desert Tour – Camel Ride & Night in the Sahara
Today is dedicated to discovering the wonders of the Erg Chebbi dunes. After breakfast, we take a 4×4 desert tour around the dunes, visiting a Berber family and listening to the mesmerizing rhythms of Gnawa music in Khamlia village.
We also explore abandoned mines, meet Berber nomads, and visit an oasis of palm trees. In the afternoon, your camels will be ready to take you on a magical trek through the dunes as the sun sets.
Upon arrival at your Berber desert camp, climb the dunes for breathtaking views before enjoying dinner by the fire with traditional music and stargazing. Overnight stay in a comfortable nomadic tent surrounded by the serenity of the Sahara.
Day 5: Merzouga – Ouarzazate
After watching the sunrise over the Sahara, we return to Merzouga by camel. After breakfast and a shower, we begin our drive to Ouarzazate, passing small desert towns and oasis villages. We’ll stop at local shops offering fossils, carpets, and crafts.
