Day 1: Tangier

Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival at the Tangier Port, your guide will greet you and introduce you to the cultural gateway between Africa and Europe. We’ll explore the highlights of Tangier, including the Kasbah, the old medina, and the vibrant Grand Socco square. Later, you’ll have free time to wander through the narrow streets, visit art galleries, and enjoy a coffee overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar. Dinner and overnight stay in a comfortable local hotel.

 

 

Day 2: Tangier – Chefchaouen

After breakfast, we depart Tangier and drive through the lush Rif Mountains. The journey offers incredible scenery as we pass through Tetouan, known for its whitewashed Andalusian architecture. By afternoon, we reach the magical blue-washed town of Chefchaouen, one of Morocco’s most photographed destinations.

Here, you’ll explore winding alleys filled with artisan shops, rooftop cafés, and colorful doors. The tranquil atmosphere and cool mountain air make Chefchaouen the perfect place to unwind. Dinner and overnight stay in a riad in the heart of the medina.

 

Day 3: Chefchaouen Free Day

Today, enjoy a full day to immerse yourself in the charm of Chefchaouen. Explore the medina at your own pace, visit the Outa el Hammam Square and the Kasbah Museum, or hike to the Spanish Mosque for breathtaking panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains. This day of relaxation allows you to truly absorb the serenity of the “Blue Pearl.” Dinner and overnight stay in Chefchaouen.

 

Day 4: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, we depart for Volubilis, the best-preserved Roman archaeological site in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll walk among ancient mosaics and ruins that date back nearly two millennia.

Next, we continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s Imperial Cities. You’ll visit the monumental Bab El Mansour Gate, the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the old medina surrounded by massive stone walls. After lunch, we head to Fes, the country’s cultural and spiritual capital. Dinner and overnight stay in a traditional riad.

 

Day 5: Fes Guided Tour

After breakfast, a local guide will take you on a full-day exploration of Fes el-Bali, the oldest and most vibrant medina in Morocco. You’ll visit the Royal Palace Gates, the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), and the University of Al Quaraouiyine—the world’s oldest existing educational institution.

We’ll explore the Chouara Tannery, the Attarine Museum, and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. After lunch, visit a ceramics cooperative and enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the ancient city. Dinner and overnight in Fes.

 

Day 6: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast, we journey south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, a charming alpine town often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Next, we pass through Azrou to visit a cedar forest inhabited by playful Barbary macaques.

Continuing through Midelt and the Ziz Valley, we enjoy panoramic views of lush palm groves and fortified villages. After stops in Errachidia and Erfoud, we reach Merzouga by evening. Dinner and overnight stay in a comfortable desert hotel.

 

Day 7: 4×4 Desert Tour – Camel Trek and Night in Desert Camp

After breakfast, we embark on a 4×4 tour around the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes. We’ll visit the village of Khamlia to enjoy live Gnawa music, meet nomadic families, and explore hidden oases and old mines.

In the afternoon, we’ll begin a camel trek into the dunes, pausing to admire the incredible sunset over the Sahara. Dinner will be served at your Berber desert camp, followed by live drumming around a campfire under a star-filled sky. Overnight in a nomadic-style tent.

 

Day 8: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

After watching the spectacular Sahara sunrise, we ride camels back to Merzouga for breakfast and a refreshing shower. Then, we head toward the majestic Todra Gorge, where you can walk between towering canyon walls. In the evening, we continue to the scenic Dades Valley, often called the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs.” Dinner and overnight stay in a riad.

 

Day 9: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech

Today’s drive takes us through some of Morocco’s most picturesque valleys. We pass through Rose Valley and Ouarzazate, home to the world-famous Atlas Film Studios, where movies like *Gladiator* and *Lawrence of Arabia* were filmed.

Next, we visit the legendary Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks. Crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains, we stop at the grand Telouet Kasbah before arriving in Marrakech. Dinner and overnight stay in a riad.

 

Day 10: Marrakech Guided Tour

Today, we discover the treasures of Marrakech. The tour includes visits to the Koutoubia Mosque, Majorelle Gardens, Bahia Palace, and the Saadian Tombs.

After lunch near Jemaa el-Fna Square, the heart of Marrakech, we’ll explore the colorful souks filled with spices, lamps, textiles, and artisan crafts. The evening is free to relax or enjoy a rooftop dinner overlooking the square.

 

Day 11: Marrakech -Essaouira

After breakfast, we depart for the coastal town of Essaouira, an ancient port city on the Atlantic coast famous for its Alizee trade winds. We will drive through valleys filled with orange groves and olive trees. You will learn about the famous argan trees which are valued for their nutritive, cosmetic, and medicinal properties. We will explore the medina in Essaouira and wander its ancient streets. Then you will have free time to explore the city on your own. You can wander down to the beach to try windsurfing, kitesurfing, or surfing. Locals also offer camel rides. We will have dinner in Essaouira and stay overnight in a hotel.

 

Day 12: Essaouira – Marrakech – Casablanca

After breakfast, we travel back through the plains to Marrakech and continue to Casablanca. Here, you’ll have time to visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque or stroll along the Corniche seafront before dinner. Overnight stay in Casablanca.

 

Day 13: Transfer to the Airport

After breakfast, your driver will transfer you to the airport for your flight home, marking the end of your unforgettable 13-day Grand Morocco Tour.
